(The Rainbow Egg Connection)

We have about 40 chickens here on the farm that live in two separate pens.  We let them out every day into the pastures and close them in at night to keep them safe.  They lay a variety of rainbow like colors.  See the pictures below of our chickens and their eggs.

The dark egg is from a Cuckoo Maran.  They lay the darkest egg, some like a burgundy color.  The small egg if from a young hen just starting to lay.

3 month old Ameraucana pullets.  These are the ones that lay all shades of green.

This is a cross between a Ameraucana and a Barred Rock.
